World-class accommodation in Phuket

The west coast of Phuket has been experiencing a growth in the level of sophistication over the last 20 years which started with the arrival of the world’s most recognisable brand of the resort world – Amanpuri. Two decades after the creation and success of the Amanpuri, the same team who brought to the world the Aman group of resorts are once again involved in a project that looks set to further increase the standard of luxury living, but this time, on the east coast of the island.

Cape Yamu – a collection of more than 30 villas designed by Jean Michel Gathy (the same architect who created the villas of Amanpuri rests on a lush green peninsula on the east coast of Phuket. Offering security, privacy, exclusivity, and investment value – this is the first project of its kind in terms of size and price, the project is 90% sold, with each plot going for 3 – 5 M USD.

One of Cape Yamu’s Unique Selling Points (USP) is the fact it is located right next to The Yamu – the 6-star resort created by Adrian Zecha (Founder of the Aman Group) in collaboration with world-acclaimed Designer Phillipe Starck of Yoo and Architect Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston. The Yamu features a 100m lap pool overlooking Phang Nga Bay, recording studios, Porsches for the private use of guests, and a general theme of “sexiness” encapsulated in the six see-through glass boxes which act as the resort’s retail outlets with cigars, chocolate, and jewellery on display.

The development of Phuket’s east coast heralds the arrival of extreme luxury on the island as well as signals that besides the continuing popularity of the island, the destination also has become a playground for the rich and famous.
