The Karon and Kata beach areas enjoy the reputation of being Phuket’s most sandy and white beaches. Throughout the year, numerous international holidaymakers visit these fantastic beaches to enjoy the wide range of water-based activities or getting a tan on one of the sun-soaked beach areas. The twin beaches offer spectacular vistas as well. The distance between Phuket Town and Kata is less than 11 miles and the beach can be accessed easily via several different routes.

Surrounded by hills and positioned within less than two miles north of Kata tourists can find Karon Beach. This popular beach is slightly longer than Kata. Karon boast some unique features, such as huge pine-trees, uneven sand hills and fringes of the beach that are vegetated with sugar palm trees.

Karon also represents a wide range of services and tourist accommodation. It is the most ideal destination taking a drive, enjoy the revitalising fresh air and explore the interesting sights; especially nearby the roundabout, which shows the villagers’ laid-back daily lifestyle that is mainly focused in fishing and agriculture.

Kata is divided into two beach areas; Kata Noy and Kata Beach. Due to the long stretch of coral reefs linking to Crab Island, Kata it is extremely suitable for scuba diving, swimming and snorkelling. However, be extra cautious during the monsoon season as enormous waves, strong currents and hard winds might create dangerous situations. Best beaches on Samui

Kata as well features many hotel establishments, guesthouses, shops, travel agencies and nightlife entertainment venues, which are mostly located around the beach.
