No-frills airline One-Two-Go is launching a second round-trip daily flight between Phuket and Bangkok from December 3.

Fares will start at 1,750baht with flights leaving Phuket at 1.40pm and returning from Don Meuang Airport at 3.30pm.

The carrier also restated its intention to raise the number of flights between northern capital Chiang Mai and Bangkok to four every day.

The announcement demonstrates a remarkable recovery for One-Two-Go, after the September 2007 crash which killed 90 passengers including 45 foreign nationals.

The company was forced into suspending its services pending a review into the safety of its operations. The Indonesian pilot was among those who died on the flight which had 40 survivors.

A Transport Ministry inquiry into crash later found the cause was a combination of pilot error, wind shear and systemic failures at both the Civil Aviation Authority and airline.

Phuket Airport currently has direct services to a total of 23 national and international destinations.
