Splashing around at Ton Sai Waterfall
Posted by Andaman Sam on October 8th, 2010 filed in Day trippingThe Ton Sai Waterfall is located in the beautiful Khao Phra Thaew National Park which is a short drive from the main centre of Phuket. The area around the Ton Sai Waterfall is an exceptionally pleasant place for a stroll and an afternoon picnic on a hot day. There is an entrance fee into the national park of 100 baht per person (for foreigners), and 20 baht per person for Thais.
There are plenty of delicious food stalls as you enter the national park, so it’s a great idea to purchase some delicious local specialties and enjoy them for a picnic whilst taking in the beautiful sights at the waterfall.
The Ton Sai Waterfall has an eight kilometre walking track around its base area, making for a great walk for those feeling like a spot of exercise. Along the track you can enjoy the stunning greenery of the jungle. If you’re more inclined to sit and enjoy, then this is also the perfect place just to relax by the cool refreshing waters. Be warned, swimming is not recommended for safety reasons. Nevertheless, for those who enjoy natural scenery and a chance to explore the jungle around Phuket, then the Ton Sai Waterfall is not to be missed.
