Check out Kathu Waterfall

Kathu Waterfall is found right near the Loch Palm Golf Course. It is very convenient to get to, and is a popular place to escape the summer’s heat with an enjoyable walk around the waterfall followed by a picnic with friends. There is a good range of facilities around the waterfall, including a number of restaurants and food stalls which make for a very picturesque lunch location.

Right nearby the main car park are a number of small drop pools and a cascading stream. This area is a very popular swimming location, and you will often find many locals and visitors alike enjoying the beautiful cool water.

After enjoying the drop pools for a quick swim, taking the time for a walk is highly recommended. If you cross the bridge and continue walking up the hill, you will see 2 large artificial drop pools that are created by the wall of 2 dams. In September and October when it is raining, these 2 pools are usually full of water and provide another opportune location for those wishing to enjoy a swim.

Further up the hill, beyond these 2 dams, is an excellent vantage point from which to enjoy the view down over the Kathu Waterfall. This is a great view and well worth the time to enjoy the scenery.
