Dropping in at Phuket International Airport

Phuket has actually become one of the main international gateways into Thailand behind Bangkok these days. A number of international carriers fly into Phuket International Airport on a daily basis. Phuket Airport is a very easy airport to navigate. It does not have to crowds of Suvarnabhumi Airport, and is much easier to find your way around as well.

The airport terminal at Phuket Airport has two levels. The ground floor is dedicated to domestic and international passenger arrivals. You can also find all kinds of passenger services such as lost and found, car hire, airport transfers, taxis, and some duty free shopping outlets. The upper level is the main departures hall. The domestic airlines maintain a check-in area at the left-hand side of the terminal, whilst the right hand side is reserved for international departures.

You will also find many different dining and retail outlets on the upper floor. There are numerous restaurants, snack bars, and cafés. There are also duty-free stores and other small retail outlets including a newsagency and a book store. A pharmacy and a post office can also be found on this level.

Once you’ve gone through security and immigration you will also be able to find a number of quality shopping and dining facilities. One of the good things about flying in and out of Phuket Airport is that it is not as expensive as Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport, The average cost of shopping and eating inside the terminal is much less at Phuket Airport.
