ountain biking is one of the many activities that Phuket has to offer and you don’t need to be a professional or have a steel of wheels to enjoy the biking in Phuket and it is one of the great way to see the island away from the crowd.

The natural scenery around Phuket is one of the best in southern Thailand as you will cycle by the sea, through some beautiful valleys, coconut groves, rubber plantations, around pineapple fields and through local villages depending on the route that your operator takes on a mountain bike fully equipped with shimano technology and front suspension with good informative guides while you have a close look at the island and having fun as a single person, a couple or a family.

There also mountain bike tour operators who offer a half a day tour and a full day tour and if you book one of these tours, the half a day tours starts at a group of lakes and meanders through secondary growth, along power lines, through oil palm and rubber plantations as well as small villages. The route includes single tracks as well as dirt and gravel roads though much of the ride is in the shade.

And the full day ride begins in the northern end of Phuket, starting in a park area that is almost entirely in the shade, then it meanders through prawn farms, cultivated areas, power line, secondary growth and you will see quite a few birds in the area.

There is also a hardcore mountain ride, if you like to push it and want a more challenging ride; you will get it as Phuket offers steep track trails.
