Among the many things to see in Phuket, is a fascinating Phuket Butterfly Garden and insect world which is located in Sam Kong, at the west edge of Phuket city, not far from the Tesco Lotus Supermarket.

Visiting the Phuket butterfly garden and insect world, is an entertaining and educational experience for visitors of all ages, as there are more than 40 species of butterflies fluttering freely throughout the colorful tropical garden under a large dome. You will be able to see various stages of butterfly life cycle in action, from live eggs, larvae, pupae and mating butterflies and you will also learn about the breeding techniques used by butterfly garden.

On your visit, you will also see an insectarium which has some interesting displays of bugs and creepy-crawlies and some of the larger insects and spiders; will send a shiver down your spine. The garden itself is one of the most lush and beautiful where atmosphere is kept artificially moist using humidifier and feels like walking trough a tropical rainforest, with streams and ponds proving a home for a large collection of fish such as koi carp and the rare shell-less turtles

The Phuket butterfly garden and insect world, opens daily from 9.00 AM- 17.00PM (last entry) and admission is 300 baht for adults and 150 baht for children below 10 years old.
