Phuket Aquarium
Posted by Andaman Sam on July 7th, 2011 filed in Activities, Family funIt is the start of the ‘wet’ season yet there are still a variety of things to do while holidaying in Phuket. One attraction that is a must is the Phuket Aquarium. Located in Panwa Bay, tourists and locals of all ages can enjoy an afternoon here.
The Phuket Aquarium is especially rewarding for families as children really find it eventful, and it is also educational. Little ones can gawk at the thousands of exotic, colourful marine life while parents can enjoy watching the reaction on their face. In the near future older children will be able to enjoy an educational hands-on day and learn all about the stunning marine life.
The tunnel is the main attraction and houses eagle rays, snapper, grouper, wrasse and sharks and is a big hit among children. Seahorse, moray eels, angelfish, batfish, scorpion fish and even an arapaima are just a few of the tropical marine life that can be seen within the tanks of the aquarium. There are over 30 tanks of freshwater and saltwater sea life to enjoy watching in fascination.
The Phuket Aquarium is open from 8:30am until 16:00 pm and is just 100 Baht for adults and 50 Baht for children making it a great, budget friendly family attraction that should definitely not be missed.
